EDF Renewables proposes to construct and operate a 500-megawatt (MWac), solar photovoltaic (PV), energy-generating project known as the Palen Solar Project. The Project would occupy 3,478 acres of federal lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Riverside County, California, approximately 10 slewing drive miles east of the unincorporated community of Desert Center, north of Interstate 10 solar damper.
The Project lies within a BLM Solar Energy Zone and Development Focus Area specifically marked for utility-scale renewable energy development Solar Project. Because it would use passive solar PV,solar inverter the Project’s environmental footprint is smaller than the “solar trough” and “power tower” projects previously proposed for the project site.
The BLM and Riverside County published a joint Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement / Environmental Impact Report assessing the environmental impacts of the project in October 2017.
Photovoltaic holder the project would use a clean, solar tracker actuator unlimited fuel source – the Sun – to generate enough energy to power approximately 100,000 California homes while supporting state renewable energy goals. Palen slewing drive Solar would also create good-paying jobs solar slewing drive while generating economic activity and local tax revenues that support vital public services in local communities in and around Riverside County.
